I'm not receiving any of the 30x30 emails. Why?

There are a few reasons you might not be getting them.

Your spam or junk filter is usually the culprit. We send 30x30 emails from:

hello@capra.run
login@app.capra.run
notifications@app.capra.run

Check your filters and add all three as trusted senders.

Instructions for keeping our messages out of spam:

If you use a work email address, your IT administrator may need to whitelist the capra.run and app.capra.run domains.

Did you register with a different email address?
Is it possible you made a typo in your email when you registered? Check that you received both an email receipt and a welcome email.
You may have unsubscribed from our newsletters. If so you'll have to re-subscribe: scroll to the bottom of capra.run and use the newsletter sign up.

If none of that explains it, send us your details and we'll look into it.

Question 2

Can I register a friend, child, spouse or co-worker for them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can pay for multiple registrations, just add them to your cart.

There is no minimum age to take part, but everyone you register needs their own email address, kids included.

Can I join late?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Entry is $30 through October 31, $35 on November 1 and 2, and $40 on November 3 and 4. Registration closes after November 4.

You still have to have done your 30 minutes on each day of November. You'll just be entering that data a bit later than everyone else.

Can I get a refund?

If an injury or illness stops you from taking part before the challenge starts, get in touch. We normally issue a refund. Once the challenge begins on November 1, entries are no longer refundable.

What activities count?

Accepted Answer

Running, walking, run/walk intervals, hiking, race day and treadmill all count, anywhere in the world.

The 30x30 is a running and walking challenge at heart, but when you genuinely need to, you can sub in a nordic ski, a ski tour or a bike ride.

Indoor activities keep your streak alive, but they don't count toward the leaderboards.

Can I split it into two fifteen minute walks?

No. The thirty minutes has to be one continuous activity, and anything shorter is rejected when you log it.

Can I make up a day I missed?

Accepted Answer

No. Each of the thirty days needs its own activity. You can log a day late, but a longer effort tomorrow won't cover today.

Can I do an hour one day and skip the next?

Accepted Answer

No. Banking extra time does nothing for the following day. Every one of the thirty days needs its own thirty minutes.

What about a wheelchair, or a mobility device?

Of course, as long as it's self propelled.

Where do I track my daily activity?

You'll track it here in the participant hub. We'll email your link about a week before the challenge starts.

How do I track my dog?

Accepted Answer

You don't need to track your dog separately. Their stats mirror your activity data in the hub. If your dog goes out with someone else, that outing won't count.

The dog leaderboard is meant to be fun, so please don't take it too seriously.

When can I start entering my activity info?

You can sign in to the hub as soon as you receive your link, but you won't be able to log activities until November 1.

Can I just track it on Strava and not in the hub?

Accepted Answer

No, but you can connect Strava to the hub and your activities will be pulled in automatically.

How do I link my Strava?

Accepted Answer

Sign in to the hub, open the menu and go to Settings. Tap Connect with Strava, and Strava will ask you to authorize the challenge hub. Once you approve, you're back in Settings with your Strava account showing as connected.

If your activities aren't public, make sure the box for viewing your private activities is ticked on Strava's authorization screen. It's on by default, but if it's unticked we can only see activities set to Everyone, and the rest won't sync. If you've already linked and private activities aren't coming through, disconnect, connect again with that box ticked, and then tap Sync Activities to pull them in.

From then on, new activities are pulled in on their own. If you recorded something before linking, or a recent activity hasn't shown up yet, tap Sync Activities in the same place to fetch it.

Question 15

What if my tracking device dies in the middle of my activity?

Accepted Answer

You're responsible for keeping your tracking device charged and working for the full activity.

You can sync the partial activity from Strava, or log the activity manually so the day still counts toward completing the challenge. A manual entry won't count toward the leaderboards. If you sync the partial activity, only the time, distance and elevation recorded in Strava will count. We won't add the missing data to your leaderboard totals.

How late can I log an activity?

December 2 at 11:59pm. After that the books close for the year.

We encourage you to log as you go rather than leaving it all to the end. It's easy to fall behind and lose track. Once logging locks on December 2, anyone missing any of the thirty days is marked incomplete, which means no $50 store credit.

What counts toward each leaderboard?

Accepted Answer

Only outdoor, GPS-recorded activities synced from Strava count toward the three human leaderboards. The activity must be at least thirty minutes long. An indoor activity can keep your streak alive, but it won't add to your leaderboard totals.

Time counts the moving time from runs, walks, hikes, bike rides, nordic skiing and ski tours.
Distance counts only runs, walks and hikes. Distance from bike rides, nordic skiing and ski tours does not count.
Elevation counts the elevation gain from runs, walks, hikes, bike rides, nordic skiing and ski tours.
The dog leaderboard counts every activity logged in the hub, indoors included. You get one point per minute, three points per kilometre and one point per ten metres of elevation gain.

Unless stated otherwise, prizes can be picked up at Capra until December 31 at 4pm. You're welcome to send a friend to collect it for you.

If you're buying something from the online store and paying for shipping, we can include your prize with that order instead.

Prizes aren't exchangeable. You're welcome to gift yours to a friend, or have us put it back in the pot for a re-draw.

December 31 at 4pm. If you haven't picked it up by then, and haven't confirmed other arrangements with us, you forfeit it.

Either. Plenty of participants aren't local to Squamish, and the challenge is built so you can do it from anywhere in the world, so shop online if that's easier.
